“Your New Life Will Cost You Your Old Life”
True transformation acknowledges that you can't change just one part of yourself, without it effecting all other parts. This is the holistic view of wellness--there is no separation when it comes to healing.
Transformation includes ALL parts of a person.
The cost of total transformation is often much higher then one expects, especially once you've taken the dive and stepped off that cliff—not knowing what will catch you!
We often find ourselves in the deep end, unintentionally, in a process that started with just a toe in the shallow-end.
If you've noticed the transformation process has already begun, here's how to navigate it:
1) Identify what you're resisting, and let go. Surrender to the process, allow yourself to be held by something larger then yourself.
2) Accept that transformation means that no parts of you can stay the same, and you are up for a complete overhaul...and keep going. There may be an “initiation” period where things are extremely difficult.
3) Remind yourself that difficult doesn't mean “wrong” or that you made a mistake. Difficult often means you're at the beginning of a new chapter, and according to the school of life, you must keep a beginners mind.
4) Allow yourself to grieve the loss of your old life, while simultaneously stepping into something completely new.
5) Embrace these growing pains without attachment—as the only constant in life IS, in fact, change.
