Overview

This 8-hour live experiential workshop you will learn how to blend beginner-level yoga therapy tools, movement, and other embodiment practices with Brainspotting. We will explore how the Yothera Method weaves into the principles of Brainspotting bringing greater presence, intuition, and attunement between practitioner and client. You will learn how to invite clients into more embodiment, access the wisdom of their body as a guide, and expand the relational and energetic frame that makes Brainspotting so powerful.

This workshop consists of both teaching, live demonstrations, guided practices, partner work, and community connection. You will come away with practical skills and an embodied understanding of how to integrate basic yoga therapy practices into your Brainspotting sessions for deeper attunement with yourself, and with your clients.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this 8-hour workshop, participants will be able to:

Describe how introductory yoga-therapy-based movement, breath, sound, and sensory practices support bottom-up regulation within the Brainspotting framework.
Identify strategies for enhancing personal self-attunement through body-based awareness that also strengthens the therapeutic attunement.
Demonstrate basic movement, breathwork, sound, and sensory techniques that facilitate autonomic nervous system regulation and somatic processing.
Apply bottom-up regulation tools to deepen relational attunement between therapist and client during Brainspotting sessions.
Implement yoga-therapy-informed techniques before, during, and after Brainspotting to prepare clients for focused mindfulness processing and support neurobiological stability throughout the session.

Target Audience

This workshop is open to all licensed professional counselors, social workers, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, substance abuse counselors, and other licensed helping professionals seeking to expand their clinical skills.

It is also open to students and practitioners who have foundational training in Brainspotting (Phase 1 or higher) and/or Yoga Therapy training and wish to deepen their integration of these two modalities.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Yoga Therapist, Brainspotting Consultant, Breathwork Facilitator, RYT-500, and Specialty Workshop Presenter

Jessica has over 20 years of experience in the psychology, healing, and therapy fields. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice, Brainspotting Consultant, Certified Yoga Therapist, who integrates clinical expertise with holistic and intuitive approaches.

Jessica is the creator of the Yothera Method, a therapeutic modality used in both groups and individual work, that invites individuals to re-write their old stories of the mind, into a new story through the wisdom of their body and natural intuition. She is deeply passionate about being part of the integrative medical model, creating a bridge between traditional mental health and holistic health.
